Sean Maher says his gay, Comes Out Of The Closet!

In a recent EW interview, Sean decided the time was now, and told his story:

I [was] 22, I move to L.A., and it’s such a cliché, but the day I arrive, publicists from the show [I was working on at the time] took me out to The Ivy for lunch. They’re telling me, ‘You know, gosh, we’d really appreciate it if you could keep your girlfriend on the side because we want to appeal to the female demographic of the show.’

At that moment, I didn’t think to say, ‘Oh, I’m gay,’ because right before I left New York, I had my manager tell me: ‘You need to get a girl on your arm or people will start talking.’ I remember telling him: ‘I’m gay.’ He had no idea. And he said: ‘All the more reason to get a girl on your arm.’ My agent was also like, ‘It’s best if you keep your options open. Maybe bisexual?’

So I kept thinking, This is my first show, I don’t want to get fired. I’m thinking, What is the potential that if they caught wind that they had cast a gay lead actor that they would fire me? I was young, I was 22. I didn’t know anything. So that sort of started the idea of, okay, well, I’m working a lot, I guess I’ll just keep that gay part of my life on the back burner for now. I went so far as to sleep with women a couple times. It was a very confusing time for me.

[Being in the closet] was so exhausting, and I was so miserable. I didn’t really have any life other than work and this façade I was putting on. So I kept my friends from college [where he was out] separate from my work friends, and that was very confusing. I just kept going on and on painting this picture of somebody I wasn’t. I didn’t have time for a personal relationship anyway. And you just don’t realize that it’s eating away at your soul.

I don’t think I have regrets. I do believe that sort of this journey took me to the place where I got and I don’t think I would feel so strongly about doing what I’m doing now had I not suffered for the years that I did.

Creatively, I feel so much more open and free, and I am so happy on The Playboy Club. I think it’s because I’ve never been so open on set. All of the relationships that I have off-camera, I never would have allowed five years ago. It feels so liberating.

230 Million Dollars in Silver Found in World War 2 Shipwreck Off Ireland

TAMPA, Fla. — Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. on Monday said it confirmed the identity and location of a World War II-era shipwreck believed to be carrying 7 million ounces of silver.
The SS Gairsoppa, a British cargo ship torpedoed by a German U-boat in February 1941, is sitting nearly 4,700 meters, or 15,419 feet, below the surface of the North Atlantic, about 300 miles off Ireland's coast in international waters. The 412-foot ship was operating for the United Kingdom Ministry of War Transport. Records say it was carrying silver valued in 1941 at approximately 600,000 British pounds.
Based on Friday's closing price of $30.10 per ounce, the trove would be worth more than $210 million today.
Odyssey Marine said it would be "the largest known precious metal cargo ever recovered from the sea."
The salvage agreement signed last year with the United Kingdom Department for Transport calls for Odyssey to retain 80 percent of the net salvaged value of the silver recovered.

The company said it recently collected video and photographs from the site using a remotely operated vehicle, which it used to confirm the identity of the shipwreck. It is now working on plans to recover the treasure, with operations expected to begin in the spring of 2012.
"Given the orientation and condition of the shipwreck, we are extremely confident that our planned salvage operation will be well suited for the recovery of this silver cargo," said Andrew Craig, the senior project manager. He noted that most of the ship's crew did not survive the journey to shore aboard lifeboats that were launched before the ship sank.
Odyssey Chief Executive Officer Greg Stemm said the company is confident the salvage can be conducted on a timely basis despite the potential complexity due to the depth of the shipwreck. "We were fortunate to find the shipwreck sitting upright, with the holds open and easily accessible. This should enable us to unload cargo through the hatches as would happen with a floating ship alongside a cargo terminal."

Oprah says on NBC news that Ms. Philippines should have won!

the queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey says our very own Shamcey Supsup should have won Miss Universe 2011.

It has been widely spread via internet that Oprah expressed her disappointment when Miss Philippines got only 3rd runner up. Her statement via NBC News says:

“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”

This statement spreaded instantly on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks and blog sites. Not only Oprah believes that Supsup should have won in terms of performance. Even non-Filipinos express their dismay through the net.

This is because, aside from ranking highest in the online poll for fan-favorite,  Suspsup also ranked second in the evening gown competition and had the best answer in the final question round without any pause and any interpreter.

As we try to get the original statement of Oprah regarding Supsup, we have come across the official website of NBC.com where our very own Miss Universe Shamcey Supsup is the featured candidate on the VOTE NOW section of the website.

However, Supsup says in an interview that it’s okay and she is very happy as she never expected that she can ever move on to the finals.

"I have to agree with Oprah, not because I live here in the Philippines too, but obviously Ms. Philippines has the best answer and no interpreter at all. She also answered immediately"

Huge Crocodile Found in the Philippines

"MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Villagers and veteran hunters have captured a one-ton saltwater crocodile which they plan to make the star of a planned ecotourism park in a southern Philippine town, an official said Monday.

Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde said dozens of villagers and experts ensnared the 21-foot (6.4-meter) male crocodile along a creek in Bunawan township in Agusan del Sur province after a three-week hunt. It could be one of the largest crocodiles to be captured alive in recent years, he said, quoting local crocodile experts.Elorde said the crocodile killed a water buffalo in an attack witnessed by villagers last month and was also suspected of having attacked a fisherman who went missing in July.He said he sought the help of experts at a crocodile farm in western Palawan province."We were nervous but it's our duty to deal with a threat to the villagers," Elorde told The Associated Press by telephone. "When I finally stood before it, I couldn't believe my eyes."After initial sightings at a creek, the hunters set four traps, which the crocodile destroyed. They then used sturdier traps using steel cables, one of which finally caught the enormous reptile late Saturday, he said.About 100 people had to pull the crocodile, which weighs about 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms), from the creek to a clearing where a crane lifted it into a truck, he said.The crocodile was placed in a fenced cage in an area where the town plans to build an ecotourism park for species found in a vast marshland in Agusan, an impoverished region about 515 miles (830 kilometers) southeast of Manila, Elorde said."It will be the biggest star of the park," Elorde said, adding that villagers were happy that they would be able to turn the dangerous crocodile "from a threat into an asset."Despite the catch, villagers remain wary because several crocodiles still roam the outskirts of the farming town of about 37,000 people.They have been told to avoid venturing into marshy areas alone at night, Elorde said."

I never knew that a crocodile can really grew that big. Well Thankfully they didn't kill the croc. A threat became an asset. :)

12ft Great White Shark Pictured in San Diego Wave

"As Labor Day weekend begins, many will be planning family trips to the beach.

Although, for those in San Diego, this picture might make them think twice.A terrifying photograph shows the moment a Great White shark was spotted in a wave in Encinitas, California - just a few feet away from completely oblivious surfers.

Gary Elliott, a passer-by who took the picture on Wednesday was convinced he had seen a shark - and the claim has now been backed up by marine experts.
'It looks pretty clear to me,' Mr Elliott told CBS8. 'It doesn't look like a surfer. It's not the silhouette of a board.'
The claim was initially disregarded by lifeguards at the beach.
Robert Veria said the photograph had, in fact, captured the moment a surfer duck dived into the wave with his or her knees bent.

But marine experts have since confirmed that the picture is most likely to be of a shark.
Ralph Collier, from the Shark Research Committee, told CBS8: 'In my opinion, we are looking at the tail end of an animal that is... 10 to 12 feet, maybe a little more.

Officials said despite the sighting the beach would remain open for the weekend.
The stunning image was taken as two-mile stretch of coastline in La Jolla was reopened yesterday despite three confirmed sightings in a week along the San Diego coast."

KOB Eyewitness News 4 has obtained surveillance pictures of a State Police officer having sex with a woman on the hood of a car in broad daylight.

State Police aren't saying anything about the photos, but KOB Eyewitness News 4 is pressing for answers.

Two weeks ago KOB reported a story about an officer caught on camera having sex while in full uniform, an act shown on security camera at the Santa Fe Canyon Ranch.

KOB has blurred out the woman's image, but you can see it's during daylight hours and the officer is still wearing his utility belt.
The Santa Fe Sheriff's office released the pictures to KOB after we filed a public records request. They say they also gave them to State Police over a week ago.
