Man Forced to Stand on Plane For 7 Hours. (Annoying)

The passenger who had to stand during a seven-hour flight because of a morbidly obese man sitting next to him has today spoken about his ordeal.

Arthur Berkowitz, 57, said his 400lb neighbour on US Airways Flight 901 from Anchorage to Philadelphia made it impossible to get into his seat. 

The obese man spilled over into Mr Berkowitz's personal space and he could not move because the plane was full so he was forced to stand up.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — An award-winning composer and former fine arts instructor at a private school in Charleston pleaded not guilty Monday to making child pornography.

Fernando Rivas, 59, also pleaded not guilty to using a computer to send the images across state lines and possessing child pornography images in April 2011.

Federal prosecutors said that in 2010 and 2011, Rivas coerced a person under the age of 18 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of taking pictures.

Also Monday, Rivas posted 10 percent of a $300,000 bond and was placed on house arrest except for work or other court-sanctioned outings, records show. He was also ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim, not to access the Internet or be around any children without supervision.

Neither Rivas nor his attorney immediately responded to messages Monday.

According to police records, officers with the North Charleston Police Department and FBI searched Rivas' Ladson home in April after a person arrested in New Jersey led them to Rivas. On Rivas' computer, officers said they found numerous pictures of child pornography, some of which had been sent to the person arrested in New Jersey.

"A Miami Gardens transgender woman is facing charges of practicing medicine without a license after police say she injected a patient's rear with everything but the kitchen sink in an illegal cosmetic surgery procedure.
Oneal Ron Morris, 30, was arrested Friday after an investigation by Miami Gardens Police and the Florida Department of Health.
According to police, the victim saw Morris in May and was injected in her buttocks with a substance consisting of cement, "Fix a Flat," mineral oil and super glue.

The amateur incision was then sealed with super glue, police said. The victim was later hospitalized with a serious medical condition as a result of the injections.
Morris, who police say is a man but appears to look like a woman and sports an apparently enhanced rear herself in arrest photos, was being held on $7,500 bond. it was unknown whether she has an attorney.
Police believe there may be other victims of Morris who may be afraid to come forward. They said the victims haven't done anything illegal and shouldn't be afraid to come forward."

Teen Arrested for Rape of 5-year-old in McDonald's Play Area 11/11/11

"CLEVELAND (Reuters) - A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for the rape of a 5-year-old girl at a McDonald's Playland in southern Ohio, police said Friday.

The assault allegedly occurred on October 29 in Anderson Township, near Cincinnati. The 5-year-old old was visiting the restaurant with her grandmother and playing in the Playland area at the time of the alleged attack.After investigating the complaint, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday released a photo of the suspect from the McDonald's camera to the news media, according to Lieutenant Michael L. Hartzler, a district commander.The next day, the boy and his parents came into his department for an interview. Hartzler will not disclose what was said in the interview, but the juvenile was taken into custody.He doesn't know whether the suspect will be tried as an adult. "Ultimately that will be decided by a juvenile court judge," Hartzler said.In a statement, the owner of the McDonald's, Judson Pickard said, "The safety and well-being of my customers, especially children, is extremely important. As a parent myself, I was very upset to learn about this situation. I'm taking this matter very seriously and fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation.""Obviously this is something we don't like to see," Lt. Hartzler said. "We tell parents don't take your eyes off your kids."The suspect is awaiting arraignment in the Hamilton Juvenile Detention Center."

Girl Gives Birth Aged 10!

Can you imagine this? what in the world? I think this is is somehow cool in a way, but this doesn't mean I'm PRO to it. How is it that you'll only have 10 years gap with your daughter or son? Isn't that amazeballs? you could hang out together like brothers or sisters lololol! anyhow this seems to be not right! :D

A girl in Spain has become one of the world's youngest mothers after giving birth at age ten.
She had a child weighing 6lb 6oz during a natural birth last week at a hospital in Jerez de la Frontera, in the southern region of Andalusia.
Both mother and baby have been allowed out of hospital and are in perfect health, but social services are studying the case.

Local media said the girl is a Romanian immigrant who arrived in Spain already pregnant.
The girl's mother told hospital staff she was happy about the birth, which she described as ‘something common in my country.’

Micaela Navarro, the Andalusia region's social affairs minister, said they only became aware of the case from hospital staff three days after the birth.
She said: ‘The important thing is that both mother and baby are cared for perfectly.

‘If that is the case, they can remain in the family environment, which is what we are checking at the moment.’

If not, the young mother and her child could be looked after by a grandparent or aunt or uncle, she said.

Navarro told reporters the father of the baby is also a minor, and both the mother and the baby were in good health.

Her department declined to give details, including the sex of the baby, but said authorities do not consider this a case of rape and that no criminal investigation is under way.

Under Spanish law, having consensual sex with someone under age 13 is classified as child abuse, an official with the Spanish Justice Ministry in
Madrid said.

But this particular case is complicated by the fact that the father of the baby is also a minor and it is not clear if he could be charged, the official said.
The girl gave birth in Jerez Hospital on October 26 and was allowed home over the weekend.

A hospital source said: ‘The girl's mother told us the girl lived with her boyfriend in her home country.

‘There are girls who can appear older than they are, but in this case the girl is just that: a girl.’

Britain's youngest mother, Tressa Middleton, from Armadale, West Lothian, gave birth aged 12 in 2006.

Medical experts warn that because young girls are still growing, they are at higher risk during pregnancy.

Studies have shown that teenage girls are more likely to give birth to premature babies and their infants have a higher chance of dying by the age of one.

The World Health Authority says that in low and middle-income countries, almost 10 per cent of girls become mothers by age 16, and that girls aged 10-19 account for 11 per cent of all births worldwide.

Elizabeth Fritzl: Story of Captivity.

I just read about Elizabeth Fritzl's Story today, and it's probably the most depressing story I have ever heard. It's about a girl who kept captive by his biological father for 24 years, sexually abused and tortured at a small basement at their own home with out his mother knowing about it ( I doubt) she even gave birth to 7 children. Damn right?! Anyhow here is the full story with out further ado. 

The Fritzl case emerged in April 2008 when a 42-year-old woman, Elisabeth Fritzl (born April 6, 1966), stated to police in the town of Amstetten, Austria, that she had been held captive for 24 years in a concealed corridor part of the basement area of the family home, a condominium-style apartment complex built by her father, Josef Fritzl (born April 9, 1935), and that Fritzl had physically assaulted, sexually abused, and raped her numerous times during her imprisonment. The incestuous relationship forced upon her by her father resulted in the birth of seven children and one miscarriage.

Three of the children were imprisoned along with their mother Elisabeth for the whole of their lives: daughter Kerstin, aged 19, and sons Stefan, 18, and Felix, 5. One child, Michael, died of respiratory problems three days after birth, having been deprived of all medical help; his body was incinerated by Josef Fritzl on his property. The three other children were raised by Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie in the upstairs home. Fritzl engineered the appearance of these children asfoundlings discovered outside his house: Lisa at nine months in 1993, Monika at ten months in 1994, and Alexander at 15 months in 1997. When the eldest daughter, Kerstin, became seriously ill, Josef acceded to Elisabeth's pleas to take her to a hospital, triggering a series of events that eventually led to discovery.

Josef Fritzl, aged 73, was arrested on April 26, 2008 on suspicion of serious crimes against family members and went on trial in Sankt Pölten, Austria on March 16, 2009.^[ He was charged with incest, rape, coercion, false imprisonment,enslavement and the negligent homicide of the infant Michael.After a four day trial from which the public and the media were largely excluded, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. "

Sean Maher says his gay, Comes Out Of The Closet!

In a recent EW interview, Sean decided the time was now, and told his story:

I [was] 22, I move to L.A., and it’s such a cliché, but the day I arrive, publicists from the show [I was working on at the time] took me out to The Ivy for lunch. They’re telling me, ‘You know, gosh, we’d really appreciate it if you could keep your girlfriend on the side because we want to appeal to the female demographic of the show.’

At that moment, I didn’t think to say, ‘Oh, I’m gay,’ because right before I left New York, I had my manager tell me: ‘You need to get a girl on your arm or people will start talking.’ I remember telling him: ‘I’m gay.’ He had no idea. And he said: ‘All the more reason to get a girl on your arm.’ My agent was also like, ‘It’s best if you keep your options open. Maybe bisexual?’

So I kept thinking, This is my first show, I don’t want to get fired. I’m thinking, What is the potential that if they caught wind that they had cast a gay lead actor that they would fire me? I was young, I was 22. I didn’t know anything. So that sort of started the idea of, okay, well, I’m working a lot, I guess I’ll just keep that gay part of my life on the back burner for now. I went so far as to sleep with women a couple times. It was a very confusing time for me.

[Being in the closet] was so exhausting, and I was so miserable. I didn’t really have any life other than work and this façade I was putting on. So I kept my friends from college [where he was out] separate from my work friends, and that was very confusing. I just kept going on and on painting this picture of somebody I wasn’t. I didn’t have time for a personal relationship anyway. And you just don’t realize that it’s eating away at your soul.

I don’t think I have regrets. I do believe that sort of this journey took me to the place where I got and I don’t think I would feel so strongly about doing what I’m doing now had I not suffered for the years that I did.

Creatively, I feel so much more open and free, and I am so happy on The Playboy Club. I think it’s because I’ve never been so open on set. All of the relationships that I have off-camera, I never would have allowed five years ago. It feels so liberating.

230 Million Dollars in Silver Found in World War 2 Shipwreck Off Ireland

TAMPA, Fla. — Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. on Monday said it confirmed the identity and location of a World War II-era shipwreck believed to be carrying 7 million ounces of silver.
The SS Gairsoppa, a British cargo ship torpedoed by a German U-boat in February 1941, is sitting nearly 4,700 meters, or 15,419 feet, below the surface of the North Atlantic, about 300 miles off Ireland's coast in international waters. The 412-foot ship was operating for the United Kingdom Ministry of War Transport. Records say it was carrying silver valued in 1941 at approximately 600,000 British pounds.
Based on Friday's closing price of $30.10 per ounce, the trove would be worth more than $210 million today.
Odyssey Marine said it would be "the largest known precious metal cargo ever recovered from the sea."
The salvage agreement signed last year with the United Kingdom Department for Transport calls for Odyssey to retain 80 percent of the net salvaged value of the silver recovered.

The company said it recently collected video and photographs from the site using a remotely operated vehicle, which it used to confirm the identity of the shipwreck. It is now working on plans to recover the treasure, with operations expected to begin in the spring of 2012.
"Given the orientation and condition of the shipwreck, we are extremely confident that our planned salvage operation will be well suited for the recovery of this silver cargo," said Andrew Craig, the senior project manager. He noted that most of the ship's crew did not survive the journey to shore aboard lifeboats that were launched before the ship sank.
Odyssey Chief Executive Officer Greg Stemm said the company is confident the salvage can be conducted on a timely basis despite the potential complexity due to the depth of the shipwreck. "We were fortunate to find the shipwreck sitting upright, with the holds open and easily accessible. This should enable us to unload cargo through the hatches as would happen with a floating ship alongside a cargo terminal."

Oprah says on NBC news that Ms. Philippines should have won!

the queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey says our very own Shamcey Supsup should have won Miss Universe 2011.

It has been widely spread via internet that Oprah expressed her disappointment when Miss Philippines got only 3rd runner up. Her statement via NBC News says:

“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”

This statement spreaded instantly on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks and blog sites. Not only Oprah believes that Supsup should have won in terms of performance. Even non-Filipinos express their dismay through the net.

This is because, aside from ranking highest in the online poll for fan-favorite,  Suspsup also ranked second in the evening gown competition and had the best answer in the final question round without any pause and any interpreter.

As we try to get the original statement of Oprah regarding Supsup, we have come across the official website of NBC.com where our very own Miss Universe Shamcey Supsup is the featured candidate on the VOTE NOW section of the website.

However, Supsup says in an interview that it’s okay and she is very happy as she never expected that she can ever move on to the finals.

Huge Crocodile Found in the Philippines

"MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Villagers and veteran hunters have captured a one-ton saltwater crocodile which they plan to make the star of a planned ecotourism park in a southern Philippine town, an official said Monday.

Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde said dozens of villagers and experts ensnared the 21-foot (6.4-meter) male crocodile along a creek in Bunawan township in Agusan del Sur province after a three-week hunt. It could be one of the largest crocodiles to be captured alive in recent years, he said, quoting local crocodile experts.Elorde said the crocodile killed a water buffalo in an attack witnessed by villagers last month and was also suspected of having attacked a fisherman who went missing in July.He said he sought the help of experts at a crocodile farm in western Palawan province."We were nervous but it's our duty to deal with a threat to the villagers," Elorde told The Associated Press by telephone. "When I finally stood before it, I couldn't believe my eyes."After initial sightings at a creek, the hunters set four traps, which the crocodile destroyed. They then used sturdier traps using steel cables, one of which finally caught the enormous reptile late Saturday, he said.About 100 people had to pull the crocodile, which weighs about 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms), from the creek to a clearing where a crane lifted it into a truck, he said.The crocodile was placed in a fenced cage in an area where the town plans to build an ecotourism park for species found in a vast marshland in Agusan, an impoverished region about 515 miles (830 kilometers) southeast of Manila, Elorde said."It will be the biggest star of the park," Elorde said, adding that villagers were happy that they would be able to turn the dangerous crocodile "from a threat into an asset."Despite the catch, villagers remain wary because several crocodiles still roam the outskirts of the farming town of about 37,000 people.They have been told to avoid venturing into marshy areas alone at night, Elorde said."

I never knew that a crocodile can really grew that big. Well Thankfully they didn't kill the croc. A threat became an asset. :)

12ft Great White Shark Pictured in San Diego Wave

"As Labor Day weekend begins, many will be planning family trips to the beach.

Although, for those in San Diego, this picture might make them think twice.A terrifying photograph shows the moment a Great White shark was spotted in a wave in Encinitas, California - just a few feet away from completely oblivious surfers.

Gary Elliott, a passer-by who took the picture on Wednesday was convinced he had seen a shark - and the claim has now been backed up by marine experts.
'It looks pretty clear to me,' Mr Elliott told CBS8. 'It doesn't look like a surfer. It's not the silhouette of a board.'
The claim was initially disregarded by lifeguards at the beach.
Robert Veria said the photograph had, in fact, captured the moment a surfer duck dived into the wave with his or her knees bent.

But marine experts have since confirmed that the picture is most likely to be of a shark.
Ralph Collier, from the Shark Research Committee, told CBS8: 'In my opinion, we are looking at the tail end of an animal that is... 10 to 12 feet, maybe a little more.

Officials said despite the sighting the beach would remain open for the weekend.
The stunning image was taken as two-mile stretch of coastline in La Jolla was reopened yesterday despite three confirmed sightings in a week along the San Diego coast."
